MANCHESTER CDP CITIES SUBMISSION

Manchester reports against its Climate Change Commitments and performance to CDP (previously the Carbon Disclosure Project) and the Global Covenant of Mayors (GCoM).

The Global Covenant of Mayors is an initiative to support cities to commit to action on climate change and publicly report their performance. The information for these reviews is submitted by Manchester Climate Change Agency, on behalf of the city, to one of GCoM's technical partners, CDP.

The Common Reporting Framework (CRF) is the Global Covenant of Mayors (GCoM)’s framework that includes a set of global recommendations to ensure robust climate action planning, implementation and monitoring, and streamline measurement and reporting procedures.

Reporting through CDP means the response is aligned with the reporting requirements of GCoM which is the largest global alliance for city climate leadership, built upon the commitment of over 10,000 cities and local governments.

In 2023 Manchester was given an A rating for the second year in a row. Being on the A list celebrates our achievements, vision and commitment in the fight against climate change and recognises the work Manchester has done to take bold climate action.
