The report, authored by Dr Jana Wendler and Dr Joe Blakey, considers five consumption-based emission hotspots for Manchester: Food & Drink, Waste & Wastewater, Construction, Other Goods and Materials and Transport Beyond the City. The report brings together academic and grey literature alongside insights generated from two workshops with academics, organisations and citizens held in October 2020 to delve deeper into each of these topics.

The report outlines specific areas for action – some immediate ‘low- hanging fruit’ and more comprehensive and ambitious changes.
