Our city’s shared plan to tackle climate change

City-Business Climate Alliance Virtual launch

Wednesday, 1 July, 2020 - 10:00 to 17:30

City-Business Climate Alliance Virtual Launch - Transformative City-Business Partners.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought huge disruption to the economy, and is a vivid reminder as to why 'business as usual' is no longer suitable. Bold action is required from public and private stakeholders, to ensure that we can collectively accelerate sustainable economic recovery with addressing climate change at the heart of it.

As part of a series of WBCSD events on “Business as unusual - reshaping the present and future”, virtual sessions will put the spotlight on the City-Business Climate Alliance  (CBCA), a joint initiative of C40, CDP and WBCSD aimed at accelerating climate action through city-business collaboration.

Join to learn more about why participating cities and entities - including the Boston Green Ribbon Commission, Helsinki Metropolitan Smart & Clean Foundation, and the cities of Manchester, Stockholm and Durban - are strategically engaging with business, and how companies are aligning their climate action with cities through sustainable, innovative and collaborative solution.

There will be two sessions running on the day:

Session 1: 10:00 - 11:00 AM

Guest speakers include:

  • Kevin Austin, Deputy Executive Director, C40
