Manchester Climate Change Agency - CIC Board Vacancy
The Manchester Climate Change Partnership and Agency are responsible for overseeing and championing climate change action in the city. The Partnership was established in February 2018 and builds on the work of the Manchester: A Certain Future Steering Group which was in place from 2010-17.
The Partnership brings together organisations from the city’s public, private, community, faith, education and academic sectors that share the common goal to achieve the ambitious objectives and targets in the Manchester Climate Change Framework 2020-25. Partnership members will:
· Take urgent action within the scope of their own activities, and
· Work collaboratively though the Partnership to help others in the wider Manchester community and economy to take urgent action
The aim of the Partnership is to work with the Manchester Climate Change Agency, the Manchester communities, and other relevant partners to ensure that Manchester develops and successfully implements a city climate change strategy aligned with the latest science and built on the views of city stakeholders.
The Manchester Climate Change Agency is a Community Interest Company established in September 2015 and provides a small executive team to take forward the work previously of the Steering Group and now of the Partnership. A vacancy has arisen on the Board and we are seeking individuals who are committed to the climate change agenda and can bring additional business-related skills and outlook to the CIC Board.

Board membership is not paid but certain expenses are met. The successful candidate will be expected to attend up to 6 meetings a year, with appointment initially for a fixed term of two years.
